Same-Day Vet Visits for Emergencies and Urgent Needs

At Wimberley Veterinary Clinic, we offer same-day urgent care appointments for dogs, cats, exotic pets, horses, livestock, and more. While we do not offer overnight or 24/7 emergency services, we are able to provide after-hours phone triage service and, in select cases, large animal care depending on veterinarian availability.

When to Seek Emergency Vet Care

If your animal is experiencing a non-life-threatening emergency during our normal business hours, call us at (512) 847-5630 so our team can prepare to treat them as quickly and safely as possible.

If your pet is experiencing any of the following symptoms, urgent care may be needed:

  • Difficulty breathing or pale gums
  • Limping or signs of pain (e.g., trembling, vocalizing, not moving)
  • Persistent vomiting or diarrhea (24+ hours)
  • Not eating, drinking, or using the bathroom for over 24 hours
  • Known toxin ingestion (rat poison, medications, chocolate, etc.)
  • Blood in vomit, stool, or urine
  • Injuries after being attacked or hit by a vehicle
  • Straining to urinate or defecate

Call us immediately at (512) 847-5630 and let us know what’s happening and when you plan to arrive. Early notice allows our team to triage your pet and prepare for rapid care.
