Our Veterinarians
Dr. Mike Sheffield, Veterinarian
Dr. Sheffield earned his DVM from Texas A&M University in 1985 after completing undergraduate studies at Texas A&I (now Texas A&M–A&M-Kingsville). His early career took him across Texas, including mixed animal practice in the Rio Grande Valley and Dallas. In 1990, he founded Wimberley Veterinary Clinic and has since built a legacy of providing exceptional care to companion animals, livestock, and exotics. He shares his home with horses, dogs, cats, and fish.
Professional memberships: AVMA, AAEP, TVMA, Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice, and Comal County VMA.
Dr. Susan Ferguson, Veterinarian
Originally from South Austin, Dr. Ferguson earned both her undergraduate degree and DVM from Texas A&M University. She began her veterinary career at a mixed animal clinic in Conroe, TX, then practiced at a small animal hospital, a feline-only practice, and an after-hours emergency clinic in the Dallas area. Now living in Kyle with her beloved dog and cat, Dr. Ferguson is dedicated to providing high-quality care and educating pet owners to make informed decisions for their pets.

Dr. Danae de Vries, Veterinarian
Dr. de Vries grew up outside Chicago and holds a BA from Augustana College. She earned her DVM from Purdue University in 2016, where she was recognized with the Outstanding Senior Student Award by the AAFP for her commitment to feline medicine. She enjoys caring for both small and large animals and brings a well-rounded, compassionate approach to every case.

Pronounced “Mave,” Mebdh is a seasoned veterinary technician with over 10 years of experience. A competitive jouster and horse enthusiast, she brings both skill and empathy — especially to our equine patients.

Kerry brings 23 years of veterinary experience to the front desk, including 17 as a technician. In her spare time, she co-hosts a podcast, practices Reiki, and investigates the paranormal.
